~ Ruffle scarf ~





-My version of a ruffle scarf-

Materials:

- 5 oz. 4-ply ww acrylic (I used Bernat Berella 4 in "ultra pink")
- I hook

Size: approximately 4 1/4" x 52"

Notes:

- Although gauge is not important, I crochet tight so you may want to adjust your hook size.

Directions:

Row 1: Ch 170, dc in 4th ch from hook. Dc in each remaining ch across. Turn.

Rows 2 - 6: Ch 3, dc in each dc across. Dc in top of ch 3. Turn.

Rnd 7: Ch 4, 2 tr in 1st dc. 3 tr in each dc across. 3 tr in top of ch 3. Now working along the short side, 4 tr around each dc and each ch 3. Now working along the starting chs, 3 tr in each ch across. Now working along the other short side, 4 tr around each dc and each ch 3. Join with a sl st to top of beginning ch 4. End off.

    I really like this pattern. I am using bulky and an N hook, so I'm thinking that I probably need fewer rows. Is the width of 4 1/4" without the ruffles? If so, I can get the width close to that number, and then start the ruffles.

    Hi peachpii - th 4 1/2" measurement includes the ruffles. Glad you like it. :)

    This is such a cute pattern!! I made this using simply soft variagated yarn in baby brights with purple, yellow, white, pink, and blue. I made it as a gift for a 6yr old little girl. It was really easy and came out beautiful!!

    Hi Debi, I am confused on what this means: Dc in top of ch 3. I am new to crocheting. Can you elaborate a little on this? I love love love the pink!!!! Definitely my color :) Fun color for a fun scarf. love it.

    Hi Goldilocksbuzz - when you get to the end of rows 2 - 6, the very last stitch is the ch 3 from the previous row. Yarn over, insert your hook into the top chain and complete your dc. (Let me see if I can get a picture of it for you.) Glad you like the pattern. :)

    I needed to make a school color scarf, navy, gold and white.. this is going to be wonderful. Navy in the middle, gold next and then edge the ruffle with white. THANK YOU!!!

    I am working on this scarf right now, and it is looking great! This is my first big project since I started crocheting. I'm actually using 2 different yarns combined to make this scarf (blue and purple). I can't wait to finish it! Thank you for such a cute pattern!

    Made this scarf with Red Heart Eco Ways yarn. It is really pretty, but rather heavy. Next time I try acrylic yarn. However, I realized you could make this with ruffles on only one side and use it for a collar on a blouse - measure your neckline and make your starting chain the length of the neckline. Place the ruffles on the bottom edge (the open loops from the dc row at the top will also allow for a ribbon to be woven in!). Thanks for this pattern!

    Thank you for the pattern. I'm about to start on this scarf. It looks great, but I am worried about whether the "double" crochet stitch you use is what I'd call a "treble". The stitches in the photo look too big for what I'd call a 'double crochet'. How many loops do you end up with on your needle before you start drawing the wool through? Two or three?

      You're welcome - and thank you. My patterns are written in American English terms - my double crochets are your treble crochets. Here is a chart I found that has the stitch names side by side:

    Made this scarf but the starting chain side ruffles are tighter than the other sides. Followed the pattern. Not sure how to fix it.
