More yarn!!

Yay!! A couple more yarn hauls for me. :) The Caron Rhapsody yarn is from the Dollar Tree. I bought 4 skeins each of "summer rose", "heather mist", "baby blush" and "ocean mist". I'm sorry - I just couldn't pass it up. And no - I don't know yet what I'm going to crochet with it. Maybe another squares afghan - or maybe another round ripple. I'll let you know when I decide.

The other yarn is my haul from my trip to AC Moore today. The 2 baby yarns are for me to crochet a couple more "psuedo flowers". The variegated is for a couple more squares and possibly a scarf. Don't know about the turquoise and soft white - dare I say another round ripple?  :)

Circle squares

I'm working on another squares afghan - this one will be alternating solid color squares and variegated squares. To be honest - there's not much difference between this square and the solid granny squares I used for my last afghan - but what the hey - who cares? This is the pattern I'm using for the squares - it's the one called "Baby Granny Afghan":

I'm working on these squares in the morning before work, so it will most likely take me a long while to finish this afghan and that's OK by me. :)

Face scrubbers

My store-bought face scrubber is on it's last leg, so I crocheted a couple of face scrubbers to see how they would work. One is in cotton and one is in acrylic. They both seem to work very well. The only thing is to remember not to scrub too hard - I think I rubbed off a little spot on my chin with the acrylic scrubber. Ouch.

Redskins scarf

I finished Erica's Redskins scarf yesterday - it goes with the hat I crocheted for her a few days ago. I hope she likes it.

Wow!

Went to AC Moore to check out the yarn section and this is what I came home with. Can you believe the size of the Monster ball? It's from Phentex - 100% acrylic - and weighs 32 ounces. It's almost the size of a baby. I love it. :) P.S. It was on sale for $9.99.

Redskins shell hat

Erica wants another Redskins colors hat and scarf. I crocheted this shell hat yesterday but I'm gonna have to wait to get more burgandy yarn for the scarf. (And here I thought I had all the yarn I needed to wait out these snowstorms.)
**Edited to add that I found some burgandy yarn in one of my yarn containers - I'm working on the scarf now. :)

My blue scarf

I love ruffle scarves but I don't love the ruffle around my face. Here is my solution:

My blue scarf

Materials:

- 6 oz. ww 4-ply yarn (I used a discontinued Red Heart yarn)
- J hook

Size: 4 1/4" x 60"

Note: I crochet tight so you may want to adjust the size of your hook.

Directions:

Row 1: Ch 197, (sc, dc) in 2nd ch from hook. *Skip next ch, (sc, dc) in next ch. Repeat from * across. Turn.

Rows 2 - 8: (Sc, dc) in each sc across. Turn.

Row 9: Skip 1st dc, sc in next sc. *Ch 2, skip next dc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Turn.

Row 10: Sl st into ch 2 space, ch 3, 2 dc in same space. 3 dc in each ch 2 space across. Ch 3, turn.

Row 11: Dc in 1st dc, 2 dc in each dc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 12: Sc in each dc across. End off.

Scrap round ripple update

Here's the progress I've made on my scrap round ripple. I've used up the scrap yarn ball that I rolled so I'm thinking a round of sc and then be done. It measures 44" tip to tip.

Katie & baby hats

I was talking to Erica on Saturday and she told me that Katie liked her hat. I decided to make her one and also one for her brand new baby girl Rory.
