** There is a vast amount of crochet patterns published both in print and on the internet, and although all of my patterns come from my imagination and are written down as I crochet the item, if you believe that any of my patterns resemble someone else's pattern, please email me at dlyrs@juno.com or you can leave me a comment here on my blog. If my pattern was created after the one in question - it will be removed. Thank you. :) **

Another SIBOL square

Crocheted this pink "StarFlower" (block #71 in the 200 Crochet Blocks book) last night to go with the yellow "StarFlower" and the pink & yellow "Fretwork" (block #197). I will be sending them out tomorrow to Sue for her SIBOL afghans. Click on the SIBOL picture on the right side there and it will take you to the site for more information.

Squares & hexagons

Here's my progress so far on the circle squares and hexagons I've been working on. It seems that I'm getting "hooked" on squares and hexagons - I've put together a few and I'm always thinking about new colors. They're certainly a great take-along project - my trusty pink tote bag I bought from Avon goes with me to work everyday. I work on them before clocking in and while I eat my snack.   :)

more SIBOL squares

I've crocheted a couple more squares to send to Sue for her SIBOL project.

The patterns are from the book "200 Crochet Blocks for blankets, throws and afghans" by Jan Eaton. Well worth the $17.95 I paid for it from Ebay. I absolutely love looking through this book. All the squares are beautifully crocheted - I love the patterns, I love the colors. I love - love - love. :)

I crocheted this multi-color hexagon this morning before work. I like it. I can definately see myself working up a whole bunch of these for another afghan. :)

Debi Y's hexagon - version 1 - **pattern fixed**

I've been crocheting lots of grannies trying to use up some of my yarn and to give me a project that I can tote back and forth to work. I wanted to try a different motif so here is my version of a hexagon. I have crocheted this one in just one color, but I'm thinking of crocheting them in 3 colors. Maybe I'll do a mix - solid hex's, variegated hex's and multi-color hex's.   :)

Materials:

- 4-ply ww acrylic yarn
- I hook

Size: 5" side to side

Notes:

- beginning shell = (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc)
- shell = (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc)
- ch 3 at beginning of Rnd 1 does not count as a stitch

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch 3, 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook. Join with a sl st to 1st dc. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3. *Skip next dc, sc in next dc, ch 3. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. (6 ch 3 loops)

Rnd 3: Sl st into ch 3 space. Beginning shell in same ch 3 space, ch 1. *Shell in next ch 3 space, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to top of ch 3.

Winding yarn

Ever since my yarn winder arrived in the mail I've been winding yarn. It's fun.  Such little things make me happy. :)

Redskins scarf

Finally finished Katie's Redskins scarf last night. Seems like it took forever. Now it's back to working on my blue square afghan until Erica gives me Stacey and her kids head measurements for their Redskins hats.

SIBOL squares

Here are 3 granny squares that I have crocheted for Sue's SIBOL project. Sue is collecting 6" granny squares from all over the world to assemble into lap-ghans for the elderly. Check out her blog for more info.

Katie & Rory Redskins hats

Another set of matching hats for Katie & baby Rory. I'm still working on Katie's scarf. I've added white to these - I like it - brightens 'em up. After I'm done with that, I will be crocheting Redskins hats for another of Erica's friends - Stacey and her 2 children.

A new toy

Vince keeps telling me that since I quit smoking I should spend some of the money that I've saved by not buying cigarettes on something that I would like to have. Well - I've had my eye on these yarn winders for quite some time, so I decided to buy one. I bought it on Ebay - it's the large winder (can wind up to 9 ounces) - and it only cost $40.00. I've been having fun playing with this contraption - it's a pretty cool tool.
