~ Yay!! Yarn!! ~

I belong to a crochet group on Ebay - "Crochet Country" - and Cassie and I recently did a trade.  I sent her 2 crochet pattern booklets and she sent me this box of scrap yarns.  :)

~ Thank you! ~

Thank you all for your well wishes about my injured hand.  It's really not that bad - I can still crochet - just a little slower.  :)

~ Ouch ~

Last week I hurt my hand at work - I went to the Dr. yesterday morning and he said that I have either popped a tendon or tore a muscle.  All I have to do is keep it wrapped and take Aleeve for the pain.  My hand really doesn't hurt all that much, but it sure is cutting into my crochet time - it's tricky trying to hold onto my crochet hook.

~ My CAL doily ~

Well - here it is ladies - my finished CAL 1918 doily courtesy of glor of   http://glor-crochetgalore.blogspot.com/2010/10/crochet-along-begins.html .  I really had a hard time with the treble crochets - they just didn't want to flow off of my hook.  I did enjoy the CAL though - thanks so much for hosting it for us glor.  :)

~ My patterns ~

Many years ago (the 90's), I designed crochet and plastic canvas patterns for Annie's Attic, House of White Birches, and a few others.  The free pattern featured today - Oct. 23rd. - is one of mine.  :)

~ 29 stitches dishcloth ~

My friend Heather from http://heather-thegoodlife.blogspot.com/2010/10/29-stitches.html designed a dishcloth and very graciously shared her pattern on her blog.  I crocheted one today - I used Peaches & Creme in 'black cherry'.  It's a nice pattern that I enjoyed crocheting.  :)

~ My super simple bracelets ~

I visited a blog a couple days ago and saw some really pretty jewelry.  The blog name is Merry Makes and here is the link to it:

http://merrymakes.blogspot.com/2010/10/strings-of-pearls-with-twist.html

Here are a few super simple bracelets that I wear to work:

They are just glass beads strung onto elastic thread.  Super simple - can't get any easier.  :)

~ Granny tissue cube ~

I've been admiring everyone's granny tissue box covers - they're all so colorful.  Michelle from:  http://theroyalsisters.blogspot.com/  very kindly shared her pattern.  She has the tutorial for the "Granny Tissue Box" posted in the right hand column of her blog.

I decided that I would like to have a cube tissue box cover instead of a rectangle tissue box cover and this is what I came up with.  It will look pretty sitting on the desk in my crochet room.   :)

~ CAL update ~

Here's my doily up to Rnd 13.  So far - so good.  I have found out one thing though - I do not like to do triple crochets.  They were such a pain in my rear.  The doily is coming out real pretty though, so I guess it's worth it.  :)

~ Hex 2 afghan progress ~

I finished the 4th row of my hex 2 afghan last night and started on the 5th row.  I am enjoying the look of the different colors - but I'm not too sure about the pink border.  Sometimes when I look at it - I like it and then sometimes when I look at it - I don't.  Hmmmmmm - strange (I always love pink).  :)

~ Cup o' cactus ~

I bought this cute sunflower cup (it's a large one) at the thrift store for only 69 cents last Thursday.  I didn't notice it had a crack until I brought it home.  Rats.  What to do?  What to do?  Well - plant a cactus in it - that's what.  It's now residing at my kitchen window.  :)

~ Mel's Drive-in ~

This cool puzzle only cost $1.00 - can you believe it?  I got it at the Dollar Tree.  It measures 7" x 18".  My son and I put it together and it only took a few hours.  Of course, my favorite car is the pink one.  :)

~ My Version 2 hexagon afghan ~

I've been crocheting my Version 2 hexagons in the morning before work and while waiting for James' bus to drop him off.  Here is my collection so far and a few put together.

The joining that I am using is this (you have to watch all 4 videos):

~ My granny shawl ~

I finally finished my granny shawl.  I slip-stitched the top left and right points just a little above the bottom point so I can wear it like a shrug.  I crocheted my shawl with Caron Simply Soft "soft pink" and my "I" hook.  :)

~ Black t-shirt ~

I work part-time at a car dealer as the Service file clerk.  The area where I work is actually in the car shop and the file cabinets are in real bad shape - some of them are actually as old as my daughter (28 years).  I cannot wear nice clothes because of this.  I got tired of ruining my $20 - $25 blouses so I decided to just wear black pants (I have 5 pair) and t-shirts.  (I go to AC Moore when they have the t-shirts on sale 4 for $10). I didn't want just plain t-shirts though, so I sew on fabric panels to the front.  Sometimes I sew on buttons - sometimes I don't.  They're not really good for a fancy outing, but they work just fine for a car shop.  :)
