I've been working on this blankie for a little while now - I'm not really liking the colors. Do you think they're too dark for a baby?
I bought the yarn from AC Moore - it's one of the mill-end bags. It is 100% acrylic and was made in Turkey. If anyone recognizes the brand, could you let me know - thanks.
P.S. The pattern was sent to me from Neicee - her blog is 'Insomniac with a Hook'. Thanks Neicee. Here's the link she sent me:

Nope..I do not think it is too dark. Looks good to me.
ReplyDeleteOh my...may I just say I *love* everything about this blankie!! :D I think the colors are just fine for a baby (back in the day we only had pastels for baby colors, but things are different nowadays LOL) and I love the stitch pattern and yarn you're using! :D
ReplyDeleteNope, not too dark for a baby. Just needs the right mom which you will know when the time comes to share this lovely gift!
ReplyDeleteDebi, thanks for the link, new pattern to add to my to do list. I love this and really like the yarn. Can you tell me the name of the yarn, I want one just like this!!
ReplyDeleteI think its lovely. I don't find the colors too dark, but perhaps this is one of the baby blankets that Mom will like more, heh. Will you be edging it in one of the shades in the blanket? Or another color? Or at all? I'm trying to visualize it finished. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like those colors!
ReplyDeleteOhh Love those color Debi! No I dont think they are too dark at all...I have made many dark pink and brown baby blankets because I love that combo. I think they are fine. Thanks for sending people my way for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI like the color, actually. What yarn is that?
ReplyDeleteI think it is very pretty and don't think the colors are too dark at all. Hope you are enjoying a nice evening Debi. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies. :)
ReplyDeleteglor - the yarn I'm using is a mystery. I bought a one pound mill-end bag from AC Moore. I can tell you that it was made in Turkey and is 100% acrylic.
Nilliem - I'm using the same yarn to crochet a simple sc border.
You're welcome Neicee.
No Debi it is lovely, very pretty ..
ReplyDeleteLooks absolutely fantastic to me! Very beautiful! :) And babies likes strong colours, not pastels!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the colors! The orange green and blue are just enough to set off the others. What brand and colorway is that?
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies. :)
ReplyDeleteKat - the yarn is one of the mill-end bags that I bought from AC Moore.
Love the colors! This is the type of blanket I'd want if I could have kids and was having a girl. Something bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteI love it! The colors look great.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT! I think the colours are wonderful - don't change a thing! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors especially the bright green and orange in it. Very different!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh....I think it beautiful! I love the pattern and the colors are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteDebi, I learned from my mother a long time ago, when she crocheted baby blankets for the hospital near our airbase, that baby blankets made in only 2 colors made them gender-specific. My mom made blankets using colors like; Cherry Red, Lemon Yellow, Carrot, Pumpkin, Sage, Woodsy, Mexicana, Mistletoe, Royal Blue, Christmas Green, etc. She used any color available except for the soft baby colors. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteThink about this way: "A gift is a gift that comes from the heart, no matter what the color is." For babies, as they get older, they will drag their blankets around and take them wherever they go. :)
