~ 2nd delivery ~
My husband and I drove to Prince George's Hospital Center this afternoon to drop off the other 10 blankies at the NICU center. I was again, a little nervous. I shouldn't of been - Ms. Abla was so very nice - she must of thanked me at least 10 times. She told me that the parents of the little babies will appreciate the kindness. That made me smile. She took us back to the NICU and thank goodness, I only saw 2 little babies in there. I will include them in my prayers tonight.
I couldn't take a picture inside, so I took a couple outside. That's my Vince and of course my PT Cruiser (see my pink pin-stripes?) We drove up to the top of the parking garage so we can look at the view. :)
I am still really stoked that you are doing this! this is truly phenomenal :) A one woman show of a miracle :)
ReplyDeleteThats so nice of you! I've been meaning to get around to completing projects like that especially since I want to be a labour and delivery nurse, I guess I'll just have to make more of a commitment!
ReplyDeleteYou are a lady with a golden heart!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely thing to do. It will mean such alot to the recipients.

I'm glad they were so happy with your blankets! What a wonderful gift for them to receive. I think many babies born at PG hospital come from families with very little money, so those blankets will be treasured.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Lanham, near DuVal HS. Right down the road from you! My daughters took dance classes at Huntingdon Community Center!
Wonderful! I'm sure the families will be very appreciative, too!
ReplyDeletethat's really an awesome project you're doing, Debi!
ReplyDeleteVery kind and generous of you Debi. I used to have a PT Cruiser too and I miss it! Shame they're not being made any more.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing you are doing! :D I hope to do the same some day. I want to make little blankies for preemies...micro-preemies actually. Our niece gave birth to conjoined twins earlier this year, and they didn't live. The hospital had a pretty white crocheted blanket that they gave to the parents as a keepsake. I'm hoping to make some of these this winter.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Debi!! Someone down the road from us drives one of those cars too - it's metallic yellow with blue flames all down the side. Everytime I see it it always reminds me of ZZ Top!!
ReplyDeleteQue Deus a abençoe.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Debi, I'm sure the blankets will be appreciated and loved. P.S. I like your pink pinstripe on your PT Cruiser. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you all very much. :)
ReplyDeleteHow Fabulous!! Many congratulation's for completing this worthwhile goal!Absolutely fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteDebi I am sure that all the moms will be thrilled when given a handmade blanket for their new baby. I am a nurse, and know first hand how thoughtfulness of any kind is appreciated. Not only are little blankets welcomed, but teddy bears and soft dollies for young children who are there for surgery or illness. You don't have to be a nurse to offer comfort, it comes in all forms. God Bless You!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much ladies. :)
