~ meet Missy ~

My sister Teri (she's the best) called and said she had a surprise for me.  And here she is - I've named her Missy:

Is this cool, or what?  She's going to help me out when I need someone to model hats, scarves, shawls, etc.

She is a little scary though - I have to get used to walking in my crochet room and seeing her there.  She's anatomically correct on the top, so she always has to be dressed - can't have my grandsons seeing little plastic boobies.  :)

  2. My apartment Managers's name is Missy, but I doubt that she would model my crocheted stuff for me.

Congratulations! I've always wanted one. All I have is a Styrofoam head (talk about scary) and a hanging woman's half body....I'd rather have a whole one like you ;-)

If people didn't know we were crafters, they'd think we're demented LOL

  5. I will get a "Missy" from my sister too today - but one without head and legs (a hanging woman's half body??? - sorry I'm German and some words are not known by me). Now I'm looking for a name for the headless woman. I have no sons or grandsons. So I could leave her naked ;-), but she should wear my knitted things.
    Have a nice day

  6. ha-ha! I think having her around would certainly take some getting used to. But you'll be able to dress her up anyway you like. Have fun! Best wishes, Tammy

  7. I would love to have one that is in the sitting position and plac her on my front porch. I would dress her to suit the season. Wouldn't that be fun?

  10. What a fun surprise! Should help a lot with photos. I am on the search for an affordable vintage iron dress form to use as a photo prop but a mannequin is probably much more sensible!

  11. how cute of your sister! Missy has a Victoria 'posh spice' Beckham pout! I have a headless, limbless, buttless girl called Dolly - I'm super envious of her sculpted abs!

  12. How great to have your own model. I can see that it will take some getting used to having this life size model around.

  13. A very nice model but I think I would be startled too for a while...LOL! Of course, she could also double as a window model...you could place her in front of the window when no one is home....and it will look like someone is there ;-) Sorry, I used to be a cop so I think of these weird things!

  15. I'm sure she's useful but I think she'd give me the shivers every time I walked in the room, LOL.
