~ straight up granny ~

After I finished my granny ripple bag, I wanted to start another baby blankie.  I wanted to do a granny stitch, so I went and got my Jan Eaton book "200 Crochet Blocks" and found her 'granny stripes' pattern.  I love Jan Eaton's patterns, but the edges weren't working for me, so I figured a different way.  Also - I'm not working stripes, so I decided to call this baby blankie 'straight up granny'.  I hope it all makes sense.  If you have any questions let me know.  :)

**Please note that I am not claiming this pattern as my own - it belongs to Jan Eaton - I only changed the way the edges are.

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern.

  2. Looks great, Debi, and I love the color of yarn you're using. :) I started yet another project tonight that I am not happy with. -sigh- So, plan C is to either do a granny stripe or a granny square. I am leaning toward the squares as that will make it a more portable project. Then again, I like the idea of a granny stripe so that when it's done, it's done, and doesn't need assembled. Decisions, decisions. I know I'm tired wasting my time trying new things and not being happy with any of them. ;) Anyhoo, as I said, your straight up granny is looking very nice. :D

  3. Very pretty Debi, What yarn are you using? I really like it. It has a fallish or autumn look to it. Have a great weekend. :-)

  4. Thanks ladies. :)

Rita - I know how you feel. That happens to me sometimes and then one day I find myself wanting to do 3 or 4 projects at once.

Heather - I'm using Red Heart Stripes - color is 'sonoma stripe'.

  6. Very nice Debi. I'm not doing too much crocheting right now but when I do, I'm rather stuck in the "granny" mode. Have a nice weekend.

  7. Debi: Thanks I like this edge. It leaves the possibility open to do a granny edge all around. I have a granny stripes WIP and there is no sc between groups of grannyes and it puckers a bit..I may need to rip and start again with this pattern! Thanks for sharing..

  8. Thanks ladies. :)

Neicee - I've always put a chain in between the 3 dc groups. One time I tried working a granny square without the chain and it puckered - I didn't like it, so back to the chain 1. :)

  14. I love the pattern and I am working on it now. The third row does not line up right and do I just finish the pattern out with the third? Sorry for the questions, I am new to crocheting. Just started in February. Please email me at peggy.jones@ymail.com. Thanks
