~ new hook ~

I made myself another crochet hook yesterday.  This one is made with light blue, pink and pearl Sculpey clay.  There is a little dent in the top - I think it was from the aluminum foil tent - but other than that, I'm happy with it.  I'll try to sand out the dent with really fine sand paper.  This is the first time that I have used a Boye hook for myself.  I learned to crochet using Susan Bates hooks and have used them ever since (almost 30 years).  If I find that I won't be able to work with the Boye hook - I'll have a giveaway.  :)

P.S.  I won the doily in a giveaway from Lia (Lia's handwerkblog).

  1. I like the colors. I use mostly Boye hooks to crochet and find the Bates hooks to be harder for me to use. For some reason the stitches get caught more.....it may just be me though. :o)

  4. That's so pretty! I love the way the colours go.

I just use aluminium hooks, but I don't know the make of them. I think I got a pack of 12 off ebay.

  10. Oh how talented you are to make this neat handles for your crochet hook. I have a set of Bernat hooks and I absolutely love them. I also have a handful of various other hooks that I rarely use. So have I missed a post where you spoke about doing these? Thank you Debi for visiting me and leaving such nice comments.

  12. How do you get your clay to look so good? I had a hard time getting it to stick to the hook. Ever thought of doing a video tutorial on how to make the hook?
