I was trying to think of a different baby blankie to crochet and an octogon shape came to mind. I wanted to crochet just one large octogon, but it wouldn't work. The larger it got, the more wavey it got. So I stopped and took out all the wavey rounds and this is what's left. It measures 6 1/2" side to side.

Two things that make me happy:
* tending to my houseplants
* being in my craft room
Thanks for stopping by and have a great crochet day. :)

I like the octogon - would make a fun coaster!
ReplyDeleteI like the octogon too, it's nice to make a blanket or a bag from it.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. I like that color and a large blanky octagon would have been really cool! I so wish I had the patience for a blanket and not get bored.
ReplyDeleteThis octagon motif is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThere is a way of making it bigger, you have to decrease on each round I'm not sure how many, I think it would be a matter of trial and error. It's a very pretty motif:)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Mind sharing your wonderful pattern idea with us? I'd be more than willing to give you credit for it (since you came up with it) if I used it.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda - if I feel like trying again, I'll use your idea of the decreases. :)
Devious One - I'll write up the pattern and post it within the next few days. :)
That would be awesome!! Woo! *does happy dance*
DeleteWonder why it got wavy? It is a pretty design and lovely color. I'm sure you will come up with some way to make it a blanket anyways.....maybe more to join to it?
ReplyDeleteLove the octogon!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Can't wait to see the blanket you make out of these!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color! Blue~ It's so refreshing to the eyes! It's so cute!
