~ Two on Tuesday ~

Two things that make me happy:

* waking up in the morning to a bright, sunny day and planning out what to do.

* a new haircut and not letting myself be upset about it.  Let me explain.  My hair was almost shoulder length - I went into The Haircuttery and told the young lady that I wanted my hair layered.  I explained it as best as I could, and I even showed her the length that I wanted - she seemed to understand because she kept shaking her head 'yes' and saying 'ok'.  Welllllll - I came out with a boys haircut almost.  It's ok though - considering my last 2 haircut experiences, I kind of went in there expecting the worst.  It just seems to always happen to me.  So - instead of being upset about it - I just put on my pink polka dot headband, checked my make-up and went to the grocery store.  No one laughed and pointed, so I guess it's not too bad.

Here's a few pictures - sorry, no makeup today so I don't want to show my face.  :)

Looking at these pictures - it doesn't look all that bad.  My hair has a natural craziness to it, so it goes where ever it wants to go.

  1. I love short hair! I'll bet it looks great on you. I have an appointment Friday. I usually get mine cut every 5 weeks but it's been almost 8 now. Post a picture so we can see how lovely you look.

  2. Our hair is the bain or joy of our existence, isn't it? Good for you embracing the change, it'll grow out if you need to go back!

  5. OH Debi, one thing I love about blogging friends is when they have a good or bad experience we can all seem to relate to it sometime in our life. I remember back in high school, back when all those cute girls were into the hair styles from the Beetles days. I found this darling picture and I wanted my hair cut just like that. My first biggest mistake was thinking it would magically transform me into the girl in the picture, she was so perfect! My second mistake was going to the Hair Academy where they taught girls to become hair stylists and the price was cheap....yeah, my neighbor could have given me the same haircut for free. I went home and sat down at the dinner table with the parents and all the younger brothers. I was their entertainment for the rest of the evening. I felt like "STUPID" was written on my forehead. Yeah, they got a good laugh at my expense. Thank goodness hair will eventually grow back out. I found out too that no matter how many times you run to the mirror it takes awhile for that to happen...a good sense of humor helps, and being beautiful on the inside is all that really matters anyways. You are beautiful!

  6. *lol* oh yes, those visits at the hairdressers... I "love" them, too! The problem is, that I'm always too polite (or rather anxious) to tell them what I really think, when they smile at me and wait for my reaction. Did you tell the girl that it wasn't what you had in mind? Or did you just fake enthusiasm and say "great!!" (like I usually do)? :)

  7. Oh Debi you poor thing. I never worry about haircuts because at least it always grows back, and you do have your headband! You're lucky to have sunshine, it's been rather cold here today xxx

  8. Oh dear.. Well, you have a good attitude about it!.. A very good sport, you are! (0; Honestly I know my own hair is getting long and is not as healthy as it should be. It really is, I suppose, screaming for at LEAST a trim, but I don't know WHEN I'll get around to that. It's just NOT anywhere NEAR the top of my to-do list right now. Anyways, the temps sound good today, but the clouds don't look so nice. It might be a very good day for crocheting, baking, or BOTH! Whatever you're doing, hope your day's a nice one! ~tina

I hate going to the hairdressers too, I'm never really satisfied with the cut and I can relate to Barbara too I usually smile and say yes that's lovely thanks ( lets face it it's done now what can you do about it lol) I'm sure it's never as bad as we think it is and I bet your hair looks lovely, like the others have said it will grow back :)

  12. Your hair looks lovely!! I always say these is only a couple days between a bad hair cut and a good one so yours will be great soon hehe. The cupcake looks lovely and just like a cute little cupcake.

  13. Exactly why I don't go get my hair cut, and when I do I am emphatic about straight across and so much in length (usually to donate to locks of love). Why can't they do as we ask? Maybe if you didn't pay, because they didn't listen, they would start doing as they were asked?? Yours looks good...I bet it's easier to take care of.:o)
