During my 2 1/2 days at the campground, this is all I could manage to crochet:
And the reason is because I was very busy crafting other things with my sisters Teri and Laura. Here are a couple things I worked on:
We also crafted some fancy candleholders and a Unity candle. Unfortunately, we didn't get pictures of them.
My sister Teri (she's the blonde standing up) had already crafted the veil and a very pretty flower arrangement before Laura (the one kneeling) and I arrived.
All of this work was for Laura's son Spencer and his new wife Berlyn. They were married in a small ceremony at my sister Julie's campsite on Saturday. And I have to give props to Julie and her husband Frankie - they cooked up the most delicious food - and there was plenty of it. There was shrimp, chicken, hamburgers, hot-dogs, chicken salad, potato salad, mac and cheese, pasta salad, green beans, cut corn, and corn-on-the-cob (I think I might be forgetting a couple things), and I'll tell you what - I think I gained 5 pounds just standing there looking at everything. There was also plenty of drinks and we certainly needed that - it was quite hot outside.
All-in-all, it was a lovely ceremony and a lovely day - and here is the lovely couple:
Mr. & Mrs. Spencer Hayden
Now if you'll excuse me - I have to go take a nap. :)
Sounds like a great time. I love weddings like this one--like it's more personal with the family coming together to make the day special. Best wishes to the couple and a nice nap for you. :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! They look very happy, too. Congratulations and Best Wishes!
ReplyDeleteRenee :)
What beautiful flowers and veil - really stunniing! And what a lovely couple too. Here's to a wonderful wedded life ahead of them. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad it arrived safely! ^.^

ReplyDeleteHow nice. I love the Crazy Zauberball yarn!
ReplyDeleteDear Debi, You have very nice and talented sisters like you. I like your family so much... All of you are so sweetheart... Best warm wishes...
ReplyDeleteA nap well-deserved! Congratulations to the happy couple!!!♥
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your kind comments and well wishes - I will pass them on to the bride and groom. :)
ReplyDeleteNow that's the best kind of wedding. So many folks go into debt to create a fairytale moment in time. I think having a small ceremony with family and friends is the way to go. Sounds like it was wonderful. I see your sisters are just as crafty as you are! Have a great week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Well wishes for the newlyweds.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to the newlyweds! My sil Chris' brother has a daughter also named Berlyn. Such a lovely name. You and your sisters made some crafty things and the veil could have come right out of a bridal shop, and look at the 3 of you helping to make the couple's day so special. When my daughter married her husband there was no catering bill, everyone brought a covered dish and I never saw so much food. The simpler the better, why start out a marriage so far in debt that there is a struggle to pay that bill when you can use the $ for the things you really need.
ReplyDeleteYour new crochet project is another winner. I can't wait to see what happens with that.
Have a good week.
Susanne :)
Congratulations :)) a lovely idea to be married at the holiday park.. :))
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies. The wedding was beautiful and simple - everyone chipped in where they could to help keep the price down. Like ya'll said - there's no sense in going into debt.
