~ Hi everybody! ~

(Hi Dr. Nick!)

Got back from the campground yesterday and jeez, I'm so tired.  Vince and I took our grandsons William and James with us and from the moment we got there, it was go, go, go.  James is constantly moving - he wears me out just looking at him.

There was swimming:

mini golf playing:

bike riding (accident from bike riding too fast):

and of course, we must of took at least 50 million golf cart rides.

Here's the boys with Ronald McDonald - I think James is trying to beat him up:

I never sleep well at the campground, so in the morning I have around 2 hours to crochet in peace before everyone else gets up.  I don't crochet constantly - sometimes I just look around and enjoy the silence.  This is a baby blanket that I started working on:

I've also been working on another baby blanket, but it seems like it's taking forever.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look at this big-a** crochet hook.  It's an XXL (22mm) - I bought it from 'Art Yarn Yummies' on Etsy.  I'm been thinking about crocheting a rug for my craft room so I needed a really large hook.
Well, that's it for now.  I hope everyone is enjoying their day.  :)
  1. Holy cow, that is a big a** hook! What size is it? I haven't been camping or anything along those lines in so long. I miss it. I love to fish. I've only fished once since I moved to GA. Glad you had a good time. Kids can wear you out quick! Welcome back!
  2. I love your pics! They are great and it looks like everyone had a good time. Your baby blankets are so pretty and look at that hook! What size is it? The largest I've seen is a "Q" hook. Can't wait to see your rug.
Your grandsons are quite the handsome fellows, and I can tell that you enjoy them. :) Also kinda glad to know that I'm not the only gramma who is worn out after spending time with the grands. LOL ;D Your blankies are lovely as always. I'm still working on the baby blanket for grandchild #3 due in December. :)
    That is a crazy huge hook! It almost doesn't look real. But I bet the rug will look great.
  12. Thanks ladies. :)
    Jessica - I'm thinking either a nylon rope from Lowe's or several strands of regular acrylic yarn. I'm not sure yet. :)
  16. Hi Debi, I just love looking at your pic's from the campground. The boys are so cute and growing so fast, and I know how that wear you out is. There is a reason we have my kids when we are young. LOL! I love your baby blanket and especially the edge around it. Waiting to see your rug. I think the nylon rope will be very hard on your hands, I tried it once. Ouch!
  17. Love the baby blankets, I'm working on one now too. Just finished 2 others for gifts. Don't know if I'm happy with the third one, it seems a bit small, but guess I could always add a few border rows to make it bigger. I bet those grandsons do keep you a hopping. Boys will be boys, scrapes, nicks, and cuts. We are keeping our 4 month grandson for an overnight and he is a little pistol. He is sleeping now and suppose to sleep through the night. I think I will head for bed myself. He has the right idea. Have a great weekend Debi.
  19. Hey Debi, Not sure you need one that big! LOL I have been crocheting rugs with tshirt yarn and I love it! I use a size 11.5 mm for one strand and a size 19 for 2 strands. I cut the tshirts 1 inch wide. I cannot believe how much fun it is to do. I am making them for the place I volunteer at. wAITING TO SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH! bRENDA
