Two things that make me smile:
* new pink shoes I bought when I was at the campground - they were only $8
* being finally finished with my new craft room.
My Vince did a great job patching up the holes from the shelves and then painting the room. I helped a little, but he did most of the work.
For about 5 days, my house was a total mess with all of my yarn and craft stuff strewn about. Here's a few pictures.
the stuff on the bed was put on the floor when it was time to sleep.
(there's a sneak peek of a new square that I crocheted for SIBOL - just need to write the pattern up)
After 2 days of painting - 2 coats and the trim - it took me about 3 days to figure out how to get everything back in the room. We added the bunk beds and they took up a lot of the floor space.
This is what you see when you look in the door:
I still have to buy a twin mattress for the top, but for now it'll do. There are 4 containers under the bunk bed holding more yarn.
As soon as you walk in and turn to the right, there is my desk and the large shelves on the wall:
The view of the left side of the room:
And this is my closet. My clothes are in here because my husband takes up the closet in our bedroom with his dress clothes, regular clothes and work uniforms. And as you can tell from the small amount of room that my clothes take up - I'm definitely not a 'fashionista'. I think I need to get my daughter Erica to take me shopping. :)
I love my craft room and I hope to never, ever, ever, ever re-paint or add any other furniture again. :)

Oh my goodness....I am in craft heaven! I love your new space....I know you will be spending endless hours in there making beautiful things as always....love love your new pink shoes!
ReplyDeletehugs, Shari
well done!!

I thought I had a lot of things stashed..I don't even come close to you..LOL. How fun was that stuff to move around and then find a new home for them. Having just moved all my stuff from a large room to a much much smaller "room" I just refelt all the pain..I too don't want to move my things or paint a room anytime soon. Blessings my friend
ReplyDeleteOh I love it, Debi! It looks great. I especially love your window coverings. PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love those pink shoes, they are awesome! And your craft room looks great, isn't it wonderful to have a space of your very own? I love my craft rom :)
ReplyDeleteYes it is Sandy - I love it. :)
DeleteLove your pink shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love your craft room looks like fun in there. I only dream of a craft room now. I can't wait to get my house so I can have one:)
ReplyDeleteWow! Wow!Wow! That's a great crochet crafty room!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of stash. Your craft room looks great Debi, you're lucky to have a dedicated room for your crafts. Love the pink canvas shoes. You really are 'in the pink' :)
ReplyDeleteRetail therapy with your daughter sounds like an excellent plan.
I can imagine you are happy now that the craftroom is ready; all the stuff everywhere makes nervous and now you can find everything quit simple. Your husband did a very good job!
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic, Debi! I was going to ask if you'd like to come work your magic on my craft room, but I have a feeling you're not interested. LOL ;D Seriously, my craft room is realllllly bad right now. I need to figure out some storage solutions before I can't get in here! :O
ReplyDeletelol Rita. As you can tell from the pictures, I love shelves, jars and containers - they keep everything in order. :)
DeleteYay!!!!!! Your Two on Tuesday" is great!!!! Love all the pics!
ReplyDeleteMary Lou
Love the shoes! Remodeling is a b----! I know the feeling about all of the stuff after you unload a room. How did all that fit in one room? Happy Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte. It wasn't easy figuring it all out, but I'm glad it's done. :)
DeleteMerhaba ne hoş güzel bir çalışma odası harika ipler ne güzel tasarımlar yapılacaktır iplerle size iyi çalışmalar diliyorum muhteşem odanızda görüşmek üzere sevgiler.
ReplyDeletedebi-since you're the crochet guru I thought i'd ask you this question. i'm wanting to make a scarf to look like this http://jennozkan.com/2010/uncategorized/crochet-ribbed-scarf-its-like-knitting-only-better/
ReplyDeleteand am not too sure on her instructions. cant i just get the same look by working in the back loops only to make a ribbed effect? also, if you don't get this can you suggest a pattern for a scarf that looks similar? i'm wanting to make a bunch of scarfs for xmas gifts this year and hit up the michaels' sale yesterday! woo hoo!
Hi Niki. You can work the scarf in the back loops of the hdc but you will end up with only a line across - not the 2 top loops that makes it look kind of like knitting.
DeleteThe hdc stitch basically has 3 loops - the front top loop, the back top loop and the side loop. The designer of that scarf wants you to crochet into the side loop only. That way the 2 top loops will resemble the knit stitches.
Thank you all very much ladies. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE your craft room!!! Its amazing. I would love to get lost there for a day or so.
ReplyDeleteThe pink shoes are FAB!!
:)
It looks great and I love your PINK sneeks!!! My favorite color! ~~Debb
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful craft room! You lucky gal you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI missed your craft room as I was busy with my Diwali festival. After having a visual tour of your craft room, I was drooling over the amount of yarn you have! And some yarns are too big, I might have to use both hands to lift !:) your craft room looks very cozy. I wish I too had one:)
ReplyDeleteAnd about clothes, I too spend more on yarn than on clothes. But my closet is bigger than you :) I must show these pics to my husband as he feels I am going crazy buying yarns! Thank you for the craft room tour . I enjoyed and loved touring it! :)
I am SO jealous of your craft room! It's a beauty! :) Good job. Can I book you to come over and do my craft room as well? ;)

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mrs Debi !.....your room is looking gorgeous, mine needs a touch too.Yarns ....oh my gosh ....?....too much...good idea...to do something different in the room.Like the pink ....it's looking great.Have a wonderful weekend.:0)
ReplyDeleteOooh ... I love your craft room! So jealous!
ReplyDeleteYour before pics look just like my house! I need a craft room too.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Eileen:)
p.s. Congrats on Asher. What a cutie pie!
Your Craft room looks so professional! Oh my, a whole room for being creative and designing! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI definitely love your new craft room! You're very lucky with this place! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI bet you are feeling quite accomplished by having all the supplies organized and your room back in order. I love what you did and isn't it great having your own space and a place to dream and create. I have my room too, but most times my yarn ends up in the living room where the tv and my husband are. The back bedroom where all my things are feels isolated from everyone. I only come back here to get on my pc, rummage around for something I need or to actually sew. Yes, it never stays organized for long, and yes, the door isn't open very often. Now if I had a room like yours....nice and bright with shelves, I might spend more time playing in that room.
ReplyDelete(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
Debi, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteLove it....it's perfect and colorful....<3 glad that I found your blog!!!!,
ReplyDeleteLove your craft room, but would have blue walls in mine :)
