~ baby blankie 15b ~

Finished this baby blankie 2 nights ago.  It measures 28" and I crocheted it with 4 skeins of Red Heart Stripes - the color name is 'cancun stripe'.  The pattern is a repeat of 1 round granny and then 1 round dc with (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the corners.  It's very similar to Sarah London's pattern.    The border is a simple 1 round of sc, then 1 round of sc, ch 2, skip next sc.  :)

~ more granny squares ~

I received granny squares yesterday from pattas of 'Hooks and Books', and from Emma of 'The Log Cabin'.

Pat also sent a hat with Tasmania embroidered on it - my husband loves it.  He says it's cool - he wants to live in Tasmania now.  I don't think so.  But Pat - in the future, if you ever see a 51 year old handsome man riding a Kawasaki KLR just wandering around looking at the scenery - send him back home please.  :)

Along with the pretty yellows square - Emma sent along a granny triangle bunting.  I have it hanging on the middle part of the window in my craft room and it's a perfect fit.  It's very pretty Emma - thank you very much.  :)

~ my stupid computer and new squares ~

Our big computer bit the dust this morning so I am working on my little pink computer.  Everything is on the big computer - pictures, PDF's, everything - so it will take me a while to get this little computer loaded up (I don't even know if it will be able to handle everything).

In reference to my 'patterns for sale' button - I had to take it down since the pattern PDF's are on the big computer.  I'm going to try to get the PDF's on this little computer within the next few days.

~~~~~
I received 2 squares in the mail yesterday - 1 from Holly Louise of 'Crafty Holly Louise' and 1 from Red of 'Red Crochets'.  The square I received from Holly Louise is a regular granny crocheted with pretty pink and white alternating round by round.  Red's square is pretty too - it's a closed granny with 1 round lavender, 1 round light blue, followed by 2 rounds of purple.  Thank you both very much. :)
Eta:  finally able to get pictures uploaded to my little computer.
~ Rustic heart plant doily ~
I have a new pattern for sale.  It's called "rustic heart plant doily" - it measures 12" and I crocheted it with cotton twine.  Over on the right sidebar is a small picture of it - click on that and it will take you to my 'patterns for sale' page where you can purchase the pattern.
I had bought the cotton twine from the Dollar Tree to fix up a pair of cardboard tube nunchuks (I don't know how to spell that correctly) for my grandson James and later on that evening I picked up the roll and started crocheting.  This cotton twine is surprisingly soft - and you can't beat it for $1.00.  I used a little less than 1 roll.
~ wiggles triangle ~
This would be a good pattern for all the crocheters who make bunting.  If you don't want it this big, just crochet Rnds 1 - 3 and then add Rnd 6.
And of course, you can make a blankie.  :)
- 4-ply worsted weight acrylic (I used Red Heart Super Saver for the base and Herrschner's Worsted 8 for the wiggles)
- I hook
Size:  7 1/2"
Note:  I crochet tight so you may need to adjust the size of your crochet hook.
Directions:
Rnd 1:  Ch 3, join with a sl st to 1st ch to form a ring.  (ch 3, 4 dc, ch 2, 5 dc, ch 2, 5 dc, ch 2) in ring.  Join with a sl st to top of beginning ch 3.
Rnd 3:  Ch 3, dc in each dc and ch-1 space around with (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in each corner ch-2 space.  Join with a sl st to top of ch 3.
~ a granny square from Marion and blog comments~
I received my granny square from Marion yesterday - it came all the way from Germany.  The colors are great - they are the Washington Redskins colors.  Marion also sent me some handcrafted wood buttons that she made.  Isn't that cool?  Thanks so much Marion.  :)
There are quite a few blogs that I like to visit, and lately I've been unable to leave comments on some of them.  I guess Blogger is still not finished with all their 'upgrades'.  Well anyway - just wanted to let everyone know.  Are any of you having problems leaving comments?
~ a little flower headband ~
I'm straightening up my craft room and came across a couple of granny squares that had little flowers attached to them.  I decided to just go ahead and frog the squares - but I kept the cute little flowers to add to purchased headbands.  I bought a pack of these headbands (they come in a pack of 4 different colors) from The Dollar Tree last summer.  Man I love that store.  :)
Materials:
- 4-ply worsted weight acrylic
   - flower color
   - green
- I hook
Size:  approximately 2 1/4"
Directions:
Rnd 1:  With flower color ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook.  Join with a sl st to front loop of 1st sc.
Rnd 2:  Working this Rnd in front loops, ch 1, sc in same front loop.  Ch 3, *sc in next front loop, ch 3.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a sl st to 1st sc.  End off.
Rnd 3:  Hold Rnd 2 loops to the front and join green with a sc to any back loop, ch 3, sc in same back loop.  (sc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next back loop, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next back loop, (2 dc, ch 1, sc) in next back loop, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next back loop, (sc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next back loop, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next back loop, (2 dc, ch 1, sc) in next back loop.  Join with a sl st to 1st sc.  End off.
Insert headband thru opposite loops - apply a dab of glue to the underside of the flower middle if you want the flower to stay on permanently.
~ a granny from Rob, bracelets and other stuff ~
I've received my 1st granny square for the 2nd granny square swap from Rob.  He also sent me a very cute 'Australia' key chain.  Thank you so much Rob.  :)
~~~~~

I went to the Dollar Tree and bought 5 packs of the plastic heart bracelets that I have used for my 'Valentine's table mats' and for my 'Sweetheart' patterns. That is a total of 50 bracelets. If anyone would like me to send you one (or two) - just let me know. :)

~~~~~
Once again, my 'blogs I follow' list keeps getting messed up.  I have to try to keep track and re-follow some blogs when they have disappeared off of my list.  Very irritating.
~~~~~

My test selling here on my blog is not going so well, so I have taken your advice about selling on Ravelry.  I'll let ya'll know how that goes.

~ 'another Valentine's table mat' pattern for sale ~

I'm trying out selling some of my patterns here on my blog.  Over on the right sidebar listed under 'pages' is 'patterns for sale' - click on that and it will take you to the page where you can purchase a pattern with Paypal.  Right now I only have the 'another Valentine's table mat' pattern for sale.  I'm basically doing a test to see how it works out.

The pattern is in PDF form - that is the only way I know how to do it.  If you purchase this pattern, I will email it to you as soon as I'm able.  (I will check frequently.)

I also would like everyone to know that I will still be publishing patterns for free here on my blog.

~ ?'s about shops ~

Hi everyone.  I've been thinking that I would like to start selling some of my patterns (new patterns, not patterns already on my blog) and such, and I was wondering if any of you could give me a little advice about running a shop.

Which site is the best in your opinion?

Any problems with customers?

Is all the work worth it?

Do you have any hints or tips for me?

Thanks so much for any advice you can give me.  :)

~ a whole bunch of stuff ~

There's a new board up for 'The Crochet Way'.  Head on over to add your link.
~~~
I received 2 Michaels gift cards for Christmas and I finally went shopping there on Friday.  This is what I bought - a large basket for my yarn in the living room and lots of new yarn.  Some of that yarn is being used for a baby blankie I started.
~~~

I had read a post on 'Beansie Babbles' a little bit ago and she's thinking about keeping up a tree all year to decorate for the different holidays.  I've decided that I wanted to jump on that bandwagon, so here is my little 4 foot spiral tree decorated with Valentine decorations.

~~~
These are the granny squares that I've crocheted for the 2nd installment of my granny square swap.  I'll be sending these out within the next week or so.  Thanks to all the ladies and to Rob for joining in.  :)
~~~

One last thing - here's a picture of me (under the pink check mark) learning how to throw grenades.  This picture was taken about 31 years ago.  I didn't do too well with actually hitting a target - but with hand grenades, the job gets done anyway.  :)
