~ Thank you ~

Good afternoon everyone.  I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your caring and comforting comments and emails on the passing of my sister Teri.

It all happened so fast and just seems so surreal.  Teri woke up in the morning not feeling well - she said she felt like she had an upper respiratory infection because she was having trouble breathing.  Her husband Donnie knew something wasn't right so he took her to the hospital.  The doctors there said she was having a heart attack and needed a couple of stents to open up 2 of her heart valves, so they flew her by helicopter to Washington Hospital Center.  The doctors there were able to insert the stents but for some reason they failed.  They were going to try another procedure, but Teri's heart wasn't strong enough - she had another attack and passed away.

I still have trouble believing that she's gone.  It just doesn't seem right.

I finished up James' sock monkey hat on Christmas Eve so I could give it to him when they came over.  He liked it a lot and it fit him perfectly.  I got the pattern from here:

I didn't add the ear-flaps because the hat was long enough to cover James' ears.

A note to Sharon of 'Sharon's Eclectic Retreat' - I've tried a few times to get to your blog and it's not working.  It will come up for a few seconds and then it just blanks out.

It's a raining, yucky day and I have a slight headache.  No matter - I have plans to start our Christmas decorating today.  A couple Tylenol and I'll be good to go.  I hope ya'll all have a great day.  :)

~ 2 TMNT hats ~

I crocheted a TMNT baby hat and I believe I should of crocheted the stripe a little higher.  No matter - the next ones will be.  I'm also not too happy with the eyes.  I glued down and then sewed the white buttons with black sz. 8 thread, but it doesn't look right.  Next time I'll also add little black buttons before sewing.

I also crocheted a TMNT hat for James.  His hat looks better (to me) because I'm able to use regular wiggly eyes.  :)

~ a little Christmas crochet ~

A few days ago, my daughter Erica called and asked if I could crochet her some popcorn garland for her Christmas tree.  It took me about 3 evenings of crocheting to get this done.  (It could of been only 2, but I've done gone and got myself stuck on that darn Pinterest site.)  I crocheted the garland with 3 ounces of (discontinued) Red Heart Sparkling - and if I've done my math right, it measures 12 yds. long.  It's a very simple and easy pattern that I have posted here:

Thanks for dropping by - I hope you're all having a good day.  :)
