~ 'easy lacy crochet doily' ~

Last Saturday, Rita of 'Gramma Rita's Crochet, Etc' posted her pattern of a pretty 'easy lacy crochet doily'.
I've been looking for an easy doily pattern, so when I saw Rita's I dove right in.  I didn't need a large doily since this one will be hanging over one of my craft shelves, so I stopped at Rnd. 17 and then added a round of sc.
I crocheted this doily with Aunt Lydia's crochet thread Fashion 3.
It measures 11" across.

Rita's pattern is well written and very easy to follow.  Thank you so much Rita.  :)

  9. Oh Debi, you have just made my day! :D I am so glad you made a doily and liked the pattern. Love the pink you used, and it looks so nice on your shelf. I know it's easy peasy, but I think that is part of its appeal, don't you? I also liked how you stopped at round 17. Very nice! I'm in the process of using this pattern to make two matching doilies for my son's new home. He had a couple end tables given to him, and they need doilies! I figure this pattern will look nice and not "too" girly. Btw, glad you found the pattern easy to follow. That is one thing I was striving for. :)

    1. Thanks Amy. For my doily I used size 3 thread and a size 1 (one) crochet hook. I'm not sure what size hook Rita used. :)

  17. Hello, I like your doily very much, but I'm wondering whether I could use some t-shirt yarn and make it a rug! What do you think? Would it look nice? Do I have to change something to the pattern in order to use such a thick yarn? Thank you in advance for your answer!
