~ a giveaway gift, baby stuff and a hat ~

How cute is this little fella?

 Liz from 'Unravelling Me' hosted a giveaway to celebrate her followers and I was one of the lucky winners.  Thank you so much Liz.  'Hooty' is right at home hanging in my craft room.  :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I finished this blankie the night before I went to the campground.  I crocheted it with various 4-ply worsted weight yarns for the circles and the border is crocheted with Vanna's Choice in beige.  It measures 22" x 17", and the pattern is 'candy drops'.
and while at the campground I crocheted 4 preemie baby cocoons, 2 tiny hats:
and 1 baby blankie:
This blankie was crocheted with Red Heart Team Spirit in royal/white.  It measures 20" x 16" and the pattern I used is the first 6 rounds of my 'simply pretty' square.
The Red Heart Team Spirit is one of the rough yarns, but it is softening up pretty nice in the dryer.
Almost forgot - I made a hat for my sister Laura too.  It started out as a preemie baby cocoon, but it was too big.  Laura said that it would make a nice hat, so I finished it and gave it to her.
Thanks for visiting ladies - I hope you all have a great day.  :)
  2. You've been busy Debi. All your work is always pretty, but I especially like your candy drops baby blanket. I went to Michael's yesterday and picked up some more cotton and have some yarn on order to start an afghan. I just couldn't muster up courage to dig through our storage garage for my yarn and books. I even bought several new hooks, but never fear, I had a coupon in hand. :-) Have a great day. Heather
  12. Hi Debi! Just want to let you know I've been reading your blog at least 2 years...maybe a bit more ( hopefully you've had it this long or my sense of time is wayyy off!). I really enjoy your blog it's very refreshing, down to earth and honest. Too many blogs nowadays are "fluffed to perfection" that they make others feel that they may be inadequate in their daily life...
    I love sharing my cup of coffee with you! I don't have a blog, but I do have a Ravelry account, so you can see that I'm real and who I say I am. I don't want to post it out here in cyber world, but if there's a way to share privately, let me know.
    Have a fantastic Friday...thank you for being real...love the blog...you're a very talented crocheter! Keep on hooking!...Kathy
    1. Thank you Kathy. I try to keep my blog who I am, but I've learned my lesson and realized that I have to watch what I say sometimes. I'm on Ravelry as DebiY1961 if you'd like to friend me there. :)
