~ Two on Tuesday ~

Two things that make me smile:

* the simple pleasure of the 1st cup of coffee in the morning.

* ordering a BLT sub from Subway.  I smile because for some reason I have to specify that I want lettuce and tomato on my sub.  The first time I ordered, the worker asked me what else I would like on my sub.  I looked at the sub and all that was on there was bacon.  I was a little confused at first - I did order a 'BLT' - so I said "umm - lettuce and tomato?"  Then I just shook my head a little and looked at my husband with a look that says "what the?"  I find it all kind of funny now - a little stupid, but funny.  :)

By the way - my BLT sub never looks like this:

~ Gloria's lapghan ~

When Vince and I were in Canada for my mother-in-law Gloria's funeral service, my father-in-law Norm gave me a tote bag with a lapghan in it that Gloria had been working on.  No one else in the family crochets, so it was given to me to finish.

When we got home, I looked through the yarn that was left and added a few more rows to the ends and then worked 2 rounds of sc as a border.  The small scraps of yarn, 2 crochet hooks (I made the blue and white hook for Gloria a couple years ago), yarn needles and scissors were put into a large jar.  I just couldn't see myself throwing them away.

And here is the finished lapghan - it will be on Vince's side of the bed.  (the lapghan measures 37" x 52")

~ baby blankie 10c ~

This baby blankie was crocheted using the 'simply pretty' square pattern - I just kept on adding more rounds.  After you crochet the square from the pattern, all you have to do is repeat Rnd 7 (the granny stitch rnd), Rnd 5 (the sc rnd) and then Rnd 6 (the ch 3 loop rnd) to make this square any size that you would like.

I used Red Heart Super Saver yarns and a 'J' hook.  It measures 33" square.

(we're having really crappy weather today - cold, grey and drizzly - so try as I might, I just could not get a nice picture.)

~ Two on Tuesday ~

Two things that make me smile:

* sword fighting with my 6 yr.old grandson James.  He showed me a few of his tricks and now I know that if I ever need to defend myself with a sword --- I'm in big trouble.  ha-ha

* celebrating my son's 24th birthday on the 15th.  With so much sadness these last few months, it was nice for everyone to be happy again.  :)

~ baby blankie 9c ~

This little baby blankie was crocheted with Red Heart fleck yarns and a 'J' hook.  It measures 32" point to point.  The pattern I used is Project Angel Kisses round ripple.  The round ripple is one of my favorites to crochet.  Here's a close-up of the fleck yarn - as the name implies, there's little flecks of fluff all through.

Now I have to get back to my 'simply pretty' baby blankie and finish that one up.  Ya'll have a good day.  :)

~ yes or no? ~

When I first saw these, I said 'no' - but I think I'm changing my mind.  They would probably look ok with a long top.  They sure are different.  :)

I saw this on the main DIY and Crafts board of Pinterest this morning.  I clicked on it and it went nowhere, so I don't know who created these leggings.  If anyone knows, please let me know in the comments section.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This square can be made into a large square for a blankie - just continue to repeat Rnds 7, 5 and 6 of the pattern.  This is one I'm working on now.  :)
I've made a video for a rectangle 'simply pretty'.
~ Two on Tuesday ~
Two things that are good:
* I crocheted a new square yesterday - I'll try to get the pattern posted when we get back from Canada.  (We are leaving Thursday morning for Gloria's service on Saturday.)
* I sold 3 of my 'for sale' patterns last night (I think this brings the total up to 10 now) - thanks Tanisha.  :)
