~ what the ? ~

Going into Michaels to see what I could find.  Son Bobby asks me to get some red yarn.  I say "ok, why?".  Bobby then asks me if I could knit him a scarf.  I then ask him in a low growly voice "What.  did.  you.  just.  say?"  "Did you just ask me to 'knit' you a scarf?"  He laughed and said "I meant crochet - crochet!"  I laughed too.  Jeez, my own son.  :)

  7. I was told a couple of days ago I did good knitting on the hat I had finished for my hubby. The look on my face as I turned around, well.... Our friend now knows the difference between a hook and needles. (nothing against knitters they rock too, just to a different beat) We all love fiber.

  8. My son calls it "stitching." The red will make a nice crocheted scarf. :)

  9. That's such a sweet story! Why is it that everyone just lumps all the needle work into "knitting"? I love the pattern s far for the scarf. It'll be awesome to see the finished "knitted" project :-)

  15. :)) it's always like that. It took quite a few months for Raj to differentiate between the terms crochet and embroidery. Your son is still close in calling crochet as knit :)
After I educated Raj about those two things then he was confused between two forms of embroidery, cross stitching and free hand embroidery which he even today shows resistance to get clarified. 'This, this one is the type I like whatever it is called,' he would say :)
Looking forward to see your crochenitted scarf. The stitch is looking very nice ...is it a moss stitch?

    1. Hi Preeti. I'm not sure on the name, but it is the same stitch I used for this pattern: http://hooksandyarns.blogspot.com/2013/03/couple-things.html

  16. Hahaha! My husband will say, "Oh, I see you're knitting/crocheting/sewing." He figures whichever one I'm doing, he'll get it right...lol. Sometimes I'll give him a pop quiz. "I'm holding one stick (or 2 sticks or a small skinny needle, depending on what I'm doing). What am I doing?" Messes him up every time...lol.
