Fka: Dly's Hooks and Yarns
Your poncho turned out great and it's a pretty color too. That isn't my favorite type of yarn to work with either. The colorways are pretty and it's always tempting to buy though. I used what I had a couple years ago for V-stitch blankets. Hope you have a great day Debi. Take care, Heather
Your poncho is looking lovely and must be soft. But I too discovered the hard way that such yarn is hopeless for crocheting. I admire your perseverance. Your mannequin is very hip with the glasses and hat :)Have a lovely week.
Your poncho is beautiful! But uncomfortable working with a thread may turn out to be a nightmare! Have a nice day, Debi!
Oh Debi...I love your poncho and your mannequin is very cool too. :)
I agree with you about bulky yarn....a pain but beautiful. Glad you were able to finish.
So annoying when the yarn is like that. But the poncho looks great!
Looks great, Debi :-) I agree; working with bulky yarn can be a pain.
That looks beautiful, Debi! Seems we all agree that boucle can be a pain in the rear, but I'm always fascinated by it. I can only work with it on projects that don't involve having to work into the chain foundation. Loops are made & you work in the loops (I'm not good at explaining, - sorry!). I am very impressed that you stuck with it and have such a lovely garment to show for it. I really like that poncho!
love the poncho. I've been debating if I wanted to go down this route!
Ohhhh wow...nice , I like it very much.That was a quick project.
Your poncho is looking great, Debi:) I know crocheting with such fancy yarns is not as entertaining as they look. I have worked with an eyelash yarn and had to crochet it very loose so that I can identify the chains by touch, I crocheted like a blind. I might give another try for the eyelash yarn, I just add few lines in entire project, that saves me from getting mad:) I am planning to use it for crafting like winding around a pot etc...just can't throw away after spending on it.
Very nice poncho! What a shame you didn't enjoy crochet with this yarn.
I've had such an experience before when I made a scarf with yarn which had mohair type hiary texture. working with it wasn't a pain, but unraveling it was. the stitches used to get stuck and difficult to pull out. And I'd made a mistake many rows below. :-( I haven't bought that yarn again. But now the scarf is finished and it's so warm :-)your poncho has come out very well!! :-) Have a lovely week!
It's lovely Debi and you deserve a medal for persevering with that yarn, it's awful to crochet with. :) xx
Oh girl, that yarn is the absolute worst to crochet. I made some scarves out of it and the only way I could work with it was to knit it. You deserve a metal for not throwing it in the trash. Your poncho turned out lovely.....I say that you deserve an award for not giving up on it!(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
Lovely poncho! I am making one as well ;-)
…. no pain, no gain ….. !!!!!! ;oDxxxxxx Ale
Pretty! Looks great!
