~ Finally ~ (and a video added)

I have some crochet to show to you.

The first project is the little piggy baby cocoon.  It measures 9 1/2" side to side and it's 12" top to bottom.  I crocheted it with Red Heart Super Saver and a J hook.

The next time I go to the store, I think I might buy a baby doll so I can show these cocoons properly.

The second project was supposed to be a baby blankie, but it just wouldn't go right.  It started to ruffle and that's not what I wanted.  I got tired of messing with it, so I just took out a few rounds and finished it.  I'll throw it over the back of a chair and be done with it.

Well, that's it for now.  I have to figure out what I want to crochet next.  I've been kind of lacksadaisacal about my crochet projects lately.  I crochet the days stripe onto my Mood blanket in the evening, and then end up messing around on the computer - mostly on YouTube.  I need to quit that.

I wish you all a great weekend.  :)

~ a mermaid baby cocoon ~

My niece Jessi called and asked me if I could crochet a mermaid cocoon for her friend who is having a baby.  Of course I told her I would - here is my version of a mermaid baby cocoon.

No one I know has a baby, and the only baby doll I own is a small one.  By looking at this cocoon, it looks like it would fit a 6 month and older baby.

Materials:
- 5 oz. 4-ply worsted weight acrylic
- J hook

Size:  11" across x 16" long (not including tail fin) - looks like it will fit a 6 month and older baby

Notes:
- the ch 2 at the beginning of Rnds 1 to 36 do not count as a stitch
- I crochet tight, so you may need to adjust the size of your crochet hook

Directions:
Rnd 1:  Ch 12, join with a sl st to 1st ch, ch 2, dc in same ch as the joining sl st, dc in each remaining ch.  Join with a sl st to the 1st dc.  (12 dc)

~ a question - updated ~

Do any of my regular commenters have a Serger?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks ladies.  I will be using this machine soon to sew up my ghost outfit for next Halloween at the campground (need to start early so I can be sure to get it done correctly in time) and I was hoping that there would be friends out there that I could ask questions as I go along.
The fabric I will be using is called 'silkiennce' (I think that's how it's spelled) and I was wondering what the 4 tension wheels should be set on.
Thank you Linus Blanketeer - you answered a couple of my questions before I asked them.  You must of read my mind.
Thank you all so much.  ♥
**campground edition**
* Vince and I found a baby turtle trying to cross the road at the campground.  We took him to the edge of the lake and he happily dove in.
(the edge of the water looks gross, doesn't it?)
* I got a new cup.  It's great for hot or cold drinks, and the lid will keep the bugs out.
~ Two on Tuesday ~
* Went to Best Buy last week to get a coaxial cable for the TV.  When we came out of the store it was raining and I didn't have my umbrella (it's in the car).  Out of nowhere, a lady came up beside me and shared her umbrella with me until I got to the car.  That was so nice of her.
* Went to AC Moore on Sunday.  I bought 4 t-shirts that were on sale for $2.00 each, a cinnamon vanilla jar candle that was on sale for $3.33, and 2 skeins of Bernat Super Value yarn in 'true red'.  The yarn wasn't on sale, so the cashier lady scanned a 40% off coupon for one of the skeins.  That certainly made me smile.
Thank you to those ladies that brightened my days.
And a big thank you to everyone who left well wishes for Vince.  He's doing well - just a little bored - he's not used to sitting around the house.  :)
~ Moody Monday ~
**I had to add another color:  peach - worried
Apr. 28th - May 4th:
28th:  happy - pink = g.g. delivery and donation from Kate
29th:  I'm ok/content - aqua
30th:  happy - pink = visit at Mom's
May 1st:  productive/creative - lime = housework, working on a new project
2nd:  worried - peach = my Vince had an operation today.  Everything's fine now.  Believe it or not, we were only gone from the house for around 6 hours - I think it's a little ridiculous that they kick you out as soon as they can.  I am very grateful that Erica went with us - she drove us there, kept me company and helped Vince get in and out of the SUV and into the house.  (he was still feeling the effects of the anesthesia until late in the evening)  I had thought about taking a picture of him in the hospital bed, but that was a little too personal, so I just took a picture of his hand when we got home.
