~ small candle doily ~


Materials:
- size 10 crochet cotton (I used knit-cro-sheen)
   - blue
   - white
- 1" plastic ring
- sz. 1 (one) steel hook

Size:  6 1/4" across

Directions:
Rnd 1:  Working with 1 strand blue and 1 strand white held together, sc around plastic ring 28 times.  Join with a sl st to 1st sc.  (28 sc)

Rnd 2:  Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, *ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next sc.  Repeat from * around.  Ch 1, hdc in 1st sc.  (14 ch-3 loops)

Rnd 3:  Ch 1, sc around hdc, ch 4, *sc in next ch-3 loop, ch 4.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a sl st to 1st sc.

Rnd 4:  Sl st into ch-4 loop, (ch 3, 3 dc) in same ch-4 loop, ch 2.  *4 dc in next ch-4 loop, ch 2.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

Rnd 5:  Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, ch 1, skip next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2.  *2 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2.  Repeat from * around.  Join as before.

Rnd 6:  Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1.  *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1.  Repeat from * around.  Join as before.

Rnd 7:  Ch 2, dc next 2 dc together (called dc decrease cluster), ch 3, dc next 3 dc together (called dc decrease cluster), ch 5.  *dc next 3 dc together, ch 3, dc next 3 dc together, ch 5.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a sl st to 1st dc decrease cluster.

Rnd 8:  Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, 3 sc in ch-3 loop, sc in dc decrease cluster, 5 sc in ch-5 loop.  *sc in dc decrease cluster, 3 sc in ch-3 loop, sc in dc decrease cluster, 5 sc in ch-5 loop.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a sl st to 1st sc.

Rnd 9:  Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 1, skip next sc, 3 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next 2 sc.  *sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc, 3 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next 2 sc.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a sl st to 1st sc.  End off.
