I finished this purse yesterday. I crocheted it with 1 strand of RHSS 'melonberry' and 2 strands Lion Brand Baby Soft 'bubble gum' with an L hook. If I remember correctly, I bought the handles from Joann Fabrics. I'm not too sure about the bow - do you think it's too much? :)
P.S. Please excuse the mess on the table.
~ Pretty in pink ~
- 4 oz. 4-ply worsted weight acrylic (I used RHSS melonberry)
- 4 oz. 3-ply sport weight acrylic (I used Lion Brand Baby Soft bubble gum)
- L hook
- purse handles
- 4" x 52" nylon scarf (I bought this one from the thrift store for 90 cents)
Size: really doesn't matter :) (approximately 12" across flattened out)
- do not join rnds unless otherwise stated, mark 1st st with a stitch marker
- I crochet tight, so you may want to adjust the size of your crochet hook

I think its cute I love pinkReplyDelete
Debi - This purse is beautiful. I really like the bow!ReplyDelete
You are so talented!
NO WAY! Not too much at all. I don't think I'd like it near as much without it! It's beautiful! Did you line the inside? Nosey aren't I! lolReplyDelete
Is this your pattern? Love it!
Thank you ladies. :)ReplyDelete
Nicole - no, I didn't line it - I always have trouble doing that. The crocheting is solid so there's no problem of anything falling out. The pattern is a very basic one - but I can write it up for you if you'd like. :)
Thank you Ms Debi, I would love to try to this bag..two reasons..I've never made one that you had to put handles on..AND I've NEVER lined one myself :) So I figured this one was smaller then the normal ones I do, might make it easier for me. IF you have time, no rush ( you know I have tons on the go)ReplyDelete
Honestly, if you have trouble with lining that doesn't leave much hope for me :)
I love the bow, it adds the perfect touch.ReplyDelete
It is very pretty. About the bow, is the person who will use it into a more tailored look or girlie-look?ReplyDelete
I think it's perfect. Really that ribbon and bow really set it off. Love it. And those handles? I think they are perfect-a-mundo for the yarn and purse. Great job! (Now -- mail it to ME!!!!!!)ReplyDelete
P.S. I don't see any mess on the table.ReplyDelete
Thanks ladies. :)ReplyDelete
Sharon Marie - the purse is for me - I'm girly, but not too girly. I think I'll just have to carry it around a couple of times to see how I like it. :)
Bev - you're so funny. :)
Cute purse Debi, very springy; those are really cool handles too. I bought some stuff to make a purse, but I need to wrap up one of my WIPs before I start anything else. Thank you for sharing your pattern. :-)ReplyDelete
Debi, it is so pretty...love the colors! and I think the bow is a great embellishment. :)ReplyDelete
Have I told you how great you are??? Well, you rock (as Hoss would say! lol)ReplyDelete
Since you took all the time to write this out I'm going to have to break a rule of mine and start yet another project before any of the others are done...hahaha..yeah right..rules..good joke! Thank you so much, you are truly wonderful and full of such amazing talent :)
So pretty!! You're such an awesome crocheter! :)ReplyDelete
thanks for posting the pattern. I am going to make one for myself. I love the bow..ReplyDelete
Thank you all for the nice compliments. :)ReplyDelete
The bow is the perfect addition to the bag. For me, it just makes the bag POP! I also love the handles!ReplyDelete
Oh, no, the bow is not too much, it's just perfect! My eyes got drawn to the bow right away and I thought how great it looked. I love your pink purse! It looks feminine, yet sturdy...very nicely done!ReplyDelete
Thank you Doris. :)ReplyDelete
Lovely bag and the colour is just gorgeous... Thanks for sharing your pattern (as you always do :))ReplyDelete
Have a great week end :))
Your purse is perfect! If my oldest daughter saw it she would snatch it away from you, lol, she loves pink. Thank you for visiting my blog and becoming a follower. I see you like a lot of the same things I do and you now have another follower too. Thank you for sharing your lovely purse:)ReplyDelete
That color is gorgeous for spring!!! Thanks for sharing!!!ReplyDelete
Hey there Debi..sorry to bother you. Quick question..how deep is your purse..from top to bottom? The 12" you referred to was side to side..right?? Sorry to be so dense. Thanks for everything! :)ReplyDelete
Hi Nicole - no problem at all - the purse is about 9" top to bottom. Side to side (flattened out) is about 12". Don't be hesitant to ask questions - I'm always glad to help. :)ReplyDelete
Thanks so much Debi..I just need to get a pair of handles and I'll be able to show you!!! I just wanted to make sure we were about the same size..mine wasn't looking exactly like yours..but measurements are same....you'll see soon..thanks again! xxReplyDelete
Thanks pattas, Susanne and Caroline. :)ReplyDelete
Can't wait to see it Nicole. :)
