Poop bags carrier

Sat down last night and this morning to crochet these poop bags carriers - the 1st picture of them is the front, the 2nd picture is the back. Ladybug graciously offered to help show them off for you - Tex, on the other hand, didn't want anything to do with posing for pictures.
When we walk the dogs, I'm the one that has to carry the plastic bags (you know, the small black plastic doggy bags you get at the dollar store). I figured it would be a little nicer to be able to have them in a little crocheted carrier. Plus, my hand won't get as sweaty.  :)

Thrift store doilies

On one of my trips to the thrift store, I found these 2 treasures. The pink doily measures 18" across and only cost me $1.90. The white one measures 13" and only cost me .90 cents. Such great deals. What am I going to do with them? I don't know - I think I am going to use them in my crochet room somewhere.

Manly SIBOL squares

I've crocheted some manly SIBOL squares to send to Sue. I used Red Heart Super Saver - color is "peruvian print" - and then crocheted a brown one and a moss green one just for fun. The peruvian print is a very interesting colorway - I loved the way the different colors changed - I never knew what I was gonna get.  :)

I bought these 2 small (10" x 12") pillows at the Dollar Tree. Kind of plain so I crocheted a 3-color blue granny square for the blue pillow and a light pink granny-ish round for the fuschia pillow. I also added a button to the middle of each crocheted piece. I might add a few more - don't know yet. I like the pillows alot better now.   :)

Idea ?

I stopped at the Dollar Tree after work today and I bought 5 rolls of Lion Brand Incredible - a ribbon yarn for knitting & crocheting - the color is "blue shades" (the picture at the top). I asked the ladies in my crochet group for ideas of what to crochet with it - I'm thinking maybe a shawl - but I'm not too sure. What do you think?

Wow - I just looked on the Lion Brand website and the Incredible costs $5.99 each. How in the world did the Dollar Tree get ahold of it?

Crochet hook display

A reader - oldnbroken is her name- asked if I could show a close up of my hooks bag - I hope this is what she is referring to. Many years ago when I worked at Joann's I brought home a couple of empty cardboard fabric bolts. I covered them with fabric - used 1 for a bulletin board and 1 to display my crochet hooks. Just add plastic push pins where you need them.
The 5th hook from the bottom - the blue and green one - my grandson William made for me a couple of years ago. It is my most treasured hook. :)

Scrap granny - final

Finished up my scrap granny last night. It measures 39" square - funny - it seemed alot bigger when I was working on it. The border is 1 round of sc, then 1 round of ch 3, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc. All the scrap yarns used to crochet this large granny are Sayelle, Vanna's, Bernat, Caron and of course, my all-time favorite - Red Heart. Yes - I much prefer the Red Heart yarns. Don't hate. :)

Scrappy round ripple

Vince and I took William and James to our campground for the weekend. It's always great to go there and relax. The night before we left, I rolled 2 large cakes of my scrap yarn together so I could start another scrappy round ripple. This is a great project to take with me - no thinking required.   :)
Here's the pattern for the round ripple:

Scrap granny progress

The night before last I finished the 2nd large yarn cake for the scrap granny - here it is hanging outside on the fence. I'm still not liking it too much. I think it's because there is too many variegated yarns in there - I much prefer the solid colors.

Vince, Bobby and I went to Walmart after we had dinner at Applebees and I found these "cute-as-a-button" buttons. I also bought two 16 oz. skeins of Red Heart soft white - I always need that color.  :)
