~baby cocoons ~

I've made 3 little baby cocoons for the 'guardian grandmas'.
I used my Innovations knitting machine.

These cocoons are so quick and easy to do.  The knitting machine does all the work - all I do is turn the handle, and then put them together.

See ya next time.  :)

~ carseat blanket ~

Here's a little carseat blanket for the 'guardian grandmas'.
It measures 26" square and I crocheted it with Bernat Baby Sport in the color 'pyjama party'.
I worked it with double strands and I used a J hook.

Thanks for dropping by - see ya next time.  :)

~ my little helper ~

Using my small knitting machine to make a long skinny scarf.  Sami was there to help me.  She didn't quite know what to think of that big ball of yarn on her lap though - she just stared at it.
The yarn is Red Heart Comfort, and it is 12 oz.

I crocheted this poncho for Sami using Knit Picks Hawthorne Sport.  It took about 1 1/2 hanks.
The pattern is just the basic granny stitch with a shell border.

Saw these hearts in the parking lot while waiting for pizza.  ♥

Take care everyone - see ya next time.  :)

~ baby stuff - crafty stuff ~

Hello everyone - long time, no see.  I'm sorry about that, but it seems that I've lost my blogging mojo.
I've also lost my designing new patterns mojo.
Yeah - I don't know what's going on.  Hopefully it will come back.

This little baby cocoon is for the 'guardian grandmas'.  I crocheted it with mill-ends yarn I bought from AC Moore.

This little car seat blanket is for Sami to use when she's in my car.
It's the perfect size to tuck in and cover her.
The pattern is my 'simply pretty' square - it's just made bigger.

This is a baby sling that I crafted.  It's made with a long piece of drapey fabric that I sewed 2 rings to.
I found the instructions on how to make one here:

There's a new craze going on now - adult coloring.  People are coloring all kinds of pretty pictures that I see on Instagram.
I think this mug is more my speed because I can actually use it, and also, let's face it - there's only so many pictures you can give your Mom to hang on her fridge.  :)

I've got a new small knitting machine.  So far, so good.
It has 22 needles and as you can see sits on 4 legs.  It's a little easier to use than the Red Heart knitting machine I had before that sits upright.
So far, I have made 2 tubes with it, which will be legwarmers if I can figure out how to make a stretchy border around the edges.

Well, I guess that's it for now.
I'll see ya next time.  ♥

~ snowflakes, a mood blanket update, and Sami ~

I've crocheted some snowflakes using Pepsi can tabs, and then stiffened them with Mod Podge glitter.
The colored tabs came from my nephew Spencer, so I am going to call them my 'Spencer snowflakes'.
I know Christmas is over, but there is always next Christmas.

Here's my '2016 mood blanket' so far.  9 squares down, 357 to go.
As you can see from my color chart, I am using all shades of each color so I can have many colors in my blanket.
For example - I have 2 shades of pink in my blanket so far, but they both mean 'happy'.

In my last post I showed you the aqua hat I crocheted for Sami and I hoped that she would like it.
I think she does.  ♥

See you next time.  :)

~ Happy New Year my friends ~

I've crocheted a couple hats for this little cutie.  She seems to like the grey one - I'll have to see if she likes the aqua one on Monday when she gets here.
I'm taking care of her while her Momma works.

I received a 'guardian grandmas' donation from Carolyn Michalek.
She was busy crocheting all these adorable baby hats.
Thank you so much Carolyn.  ♥

This little square is the beginning of my 2016 crochet mood blanket.
It measures 3 1/2" so I should be able to crochet 365 of them before the blanket gets too big.
(I crocheted stripes for my 2014 crochet mood blanket and I had to stop around the 6th month.)
We'll see how it goes.

I post a lot on Instagram, so if anyone is interested you can follow me there.  My name is debi_y

Thanks for dropping by - I wish you all good health and happiness for the new year.  :)
